Following her research into ancient embroidery techniques, Tram embarked on a series of practical explorations to deepen her understanding and craft a personal artistic expression.
She returned to traditional silk-producing villages to study different types of silk threads, focusing on sourcing original fibers as they were made centuries ago. She learned the art of thread spinning to create materials with varying thicknesses and textures, allowing for nuanced artistic expression with each stitch.
During this period, she also immersed herself in the silk embroidery traditions of other countries with rich legacies in this craft, such as Japan, Korea, China, the UK, and France. These exercises were selfdesigned to help her master the medium and integrate it into her creative practice.
