This project was a collaboration during the graduation internship of Ghazal Bakhtiari - student from the Atelier Chardon Savard in Paris - and Meo Meo Atelier in Hoi An.
We drew inspiration from ancient patterns carved on 16th-century stone pedestals from the Vietnamese Tran Dynasty and reimagined these motifs as embroidery designs.
The patterns were interpreted using both traditional Vietnamese embroidery techniques and materials, alongside sequin and beadwork techniques I learned at Ecole Lesage in France.
The result was a unique fusion of these styles and made into an embroidery kit with step by step instructions to share in a workshop.
