Hoi An Textile Week & “Love of Nature” Exhibition | 2023
2023 - Hoi An Textile Week (Residency, Artist Exchange & Exhibition)
This project marked Tram’s effort to build a community of Vietnamese textile artists and create an environment for collaborative exchange. After more than a decade in the textile art community, Tram organized the inaugural Hoi An Textile Week, bringing together seven artists, designers, and researchers specializing in Vietnamese textile heritage and contemporary art.
Held at Kyara Art House, a space Tram founded, the week-long residency featured in-depth art talks and workshops that enriched participants’ experience and understanding of textile art. The event concluded with a public exhibition, sharing the results with the public, media, and fellow practitioners across Vietnam. Tram aspires to make Hoi An Textile Week an annual event, with plans to invite international artists in the future to exchange ideas and introduce them to Vietnam’s rich textile heritage.

2023 - “Love of Nature” Exhibition
This exhibition concluded the Hoi An Textile Week residency and featured seven artists, designers, and researchers who explored different aspects of soft materials, including fabric, weaving, embroidery, and dyeing techniques, all rooted in Vietnam’s rich heritage dating back thousands of years. United by a common vision, the artists sought to apply these traditional materials and techniques to contemporary art practices, as well as practical uses in fashion and interior design. The materials used were eco-friendly, which inspired the exhibition’s title, Love of Nature. The exhibition attracted a broad audience of art and culture enthusiasts, including local residents and children from art classes. Alongside the exhibition, three workshops were hosted by visiting artists, who shared new embroidery, painting, and dyeing techniques with Hoi An’s creative and fashion communities, with the goal of contributing to local tourism.
